Mostafa Gharibi is a performer and teacher of tar and setar. A graduate of the University of Art, he began his musical activity in 2006 and entered the University of Art in 2014 with tar as his principal instrument. He also studied kamancheh, oud, and tombak, gaining familiarity with the techniques and playing of these instruments. He received specialized instruction in the tar radif under Hossein Mehrani, Hamidreza Khabbazi, Amirhassan Sharifi, and Milad Mohammadi, and studied other areas of music theory under teachers including Parichehr Khajeh, Ehsan Emami, Ehsan Zabihifar, and Mahmoud Balandeh. He has been a member of various music groups and has given numerous performances in halls including: a concert at Shahriar Hall (2015); a concert at Arasbaran Hall (2016); the "Barman" concert at Avini Hall (2016); a concert at the University of Art (2018); the "Navaye Bastan" concert at Niavaran Hall (2018); and a concert at Baharan Hall (2019), among others. He has been teaching since 2010.
